Authorities investigating slew of Cleveland shootings from Friday night and Saturday morning

Police are investigating multiple shootings that happened late Friday night and early Saturday morning in Cleveland.

At around 11:19 p.m. Friday, a 28-year-old woman was shot in the arm in the 2400 block of Woodhill Road, authorities said.

Just after midnight, a 53-year-old woman was shot in the leg near East 93rd Street and Union Avenue, authorities said.

A 24-year-old man was shot in the side in the 1800 block of East 19th Street around 12:28 a.m., police said.

At around 2 a.m. Cleveland police officers were shot at near East 93rd Street and Benham Avenue, authorities said. The officers didn't return fire. One man was arrested in connection with the shooting. The man's name and potential charges have not been released.

A 27-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and buttocks near East 78th Street and Carnegie Avenue around 2:17 a.m., according to authorities. At about the same time, a 37-year-old man was shot in the legs in the 3400 block of East 143rd Street, authorities said.

Cleveland police are also investigating a carjacking of an East Cleveland officer who was working an off-duty security detail in the 3800 block of East 75th Street. The officer and the carjacker exchanged gunfire. The officer wasn't injured, authorities said. No arrests have been made.
