Cleveland firefighters rescue 3 children from house fire on East Side

CLEVELAND — Three children were rescued by Cleveland firefighters Wednesday after a house caught fire in the city’s Mt. Pleasant neighborhood.

According to Cleveland EMS, a 14-year-old girl, 11-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy were transported to MetroHealth Medical Center. The 14-year-old was last known to be in serious condition. The other two children were last known to be stable.

The fire happened in the 3500 block of East 153rd Street.

Fire officials said that the three children were rescued from the home’s second story by Fifth Battalion firefighters from Ladder 36.

No cause of the fire has been announced. The case remains under investigation.
