A woman and her two children died Tuesday morning in an Ashtabula house fire.
The fire happened around 11 a.m. on the 5500 block of Washington Avenue, authorities said.
The mother was identified as 36-year-old Kelly Estep. The children were identified as 3-year-old Zander Wlotzko and Frankie Wlotzko Jr.
Four other children who were in the house at the time were able to escape safely. According to authorities, the mother was told about the fire by a neighbor and raced upstairs to rescue the boys but succumbed to what appears to be smoke inhalation.
An official cause of death has not been determined.
Most of the damage was limited to a bedroom where the victims were found. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
