Two people are facing aggravated murder charges for the shooting death of a 68-year-old man in Cleveland Heights.

On Wednesday, police arrested 26-year-old Shannon Oehlstrom and 29-year-old Johnathan Purvis for allegedly killing James Ruesch in a Cleveland Heights apartment.

Ruesch was found dead at the apartment on Caledonia Avenue Sunday. Ruesch's mother requested that police check on her son after he didn't show up at her Mayfield Heights home as he usually does.

When officers arrived, they found Ruesch dead, lying face down in the kitchen of his apartment.

According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, his death was caused by gunshot wounds to the head.

Initial investigation revealed that Oehlstrom and Purvis worked for Ruesch's plumbing business during different times in 2015.

The investigation is ongoing.

Both suspects are expected to make their first court appearances on Dec. 24.
