A federal jury convicted two members of the Heartless Felons in connection with the 2015 carjacking in the Tremont neighborhood.

Kenneth Jackson, Jr., 20, and Antowine Palmer, 24, were convicted of an armed carjacking on July 25 2015, according to a U.S. Northern District Attorney's Office news release.

Jackson was also convicted of carjacking a couple the following day. The jury found Jackson brandished a firearm in both attacks while Palmer used a firearm in the first carjacking.

Both Jackson and Palmer were a part of five men who were indicted in 2015 for a string of robberies and a violent carjacking of a Barrio restaurant worker.

Tervon’tae Taylor, 23, of Cleveland Heights; D’wan Dillard, Jr., 20, Calvin Rembert, 23, both of Cleveland, previously pleaded guilty to their roles in carjackings in and around Tremont in the summer of 2015.

Jackson and Palmer were feuding with another gang and was planning to do a drive-by shooting, so they went to steal a car in Tremont to disguise themselves.

Palmer, Jackson, Taylor and Rembert saw a man loading a GMC Denali in the early when they held a loaded gun to the victim’s head, pistol-whipped him. The men stole his vehicle, wallet and cellular phone, the news release said.

The man's credit cards were also used to make purchases at Wal-Mart.

Jackson and Palmer are scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 23.
