Clarence Davis' mother is pleading with her son to turn himself in. In an exclusive interview with News 5 Aretha Davis tells us that her son had plans to start a family with his live-in girlfriend Samika Traylor but apparently said Tuesday morning, that this was the last straw.

In a recorded phone conversation, Clarence begins by telling his mother, repeatedly, that he loves her in which she tells him "slow down.”

It's the call Aretha Davis says she woke up to this morning, her son audibly distraught. “I just want to say I love you” repeated Clarence Davis.

What Aretha Davis would soon find out is that shortly before that phone call, police say her 24-year old son threatened his live-in girlfriend, Samika Traylor, with a gun and took off in her car with her two kids inside.

It was a relationship his mother says was promising, “They just moved into another place, started a family," said Davis.

Aretha Davis says her son and Traylor were on and off for three years and although the isn't the father of Traylor’s two kids, she says the kids do not see it that way. “They called him daddy, they call him dad," said Aretha Davis.

Now Aretha is pleaded for her son to do the right thing and turn himself in. "Clarence turn yourself in and I love you… you can come out of this."
