Lorain police are investigating a serious injury crash involving a city street sweeper.

Police say a man was driving a blue 2006 Dodge Caravan and drove left of center on Leavitt Roach as it approached the intersection with Arrowhead Street. This caused him to hit a City of Lorain street-sweeper that was traveling towards the Dodge Caravan.

Both vehicles suffered disabling damage from the head-on crash.

The driver who caused the crash was incapacitated by his injuries and was not wearing a seatbelt, according to police. He was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center by LifeCare Ambulance. He was then life-flighted to Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland. Miller is still in critical condition.

The driver of the City street sweeper had less serious injuries, according to police, and he was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center by LifeCare.

The road where the crash happened was closed for four hours, allowing the scene to be investigated and processed for physical evidence.

The crash remains under investigation.
