The Crestwood Local School District has suspended all high school football operations, effective immediately.
Operations will be suspended "until such time as the superintendent announces otherwise," administrators said Friday.
Mantua police said they were contacted by administrators in reference to an "incident" that was brought to the district's attention.
"The department at this time has opened a fact-finding investigation looking into the allegations made to determine if criminal acts had occurred," according to a news release from the department.
Crestwood was supposed to play Mogadore Friday night for Mogadore's homecoming. That game is now canceled. According to Mogadore school officials, the Mogadore homecoming dance will go on as scheduled on Saturday. The Homecoming court will be recognized at the last home game on Oct. 20.
Police say the district is cooperating.
