Man arrested on aggravated murder charge in connection to death of Cuyahoga Falls man

An arrest has been made in connection to the death of a 32-year-old man in Cuyahoga Falls.

Police say 65-year-old Edward Piechowiak Jr. of Maple Heights was arrested Thursday on charges of aggravated murder and tampering with evidence. Other charges may be filed.

According to police, the weapon used in the homicide was also recovered. 

Kevin Tiearney was found unresponsive at the apartment building at 4260 Americana Drive on Aug. 2 after police received reports of possible gunshots. 

He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, Piechowiak is the maternal grandfather of Tiearney's daughter. He is currently being held in the Summit County Jail.
