The Summit County Sheriff's Office reports a county jail inmate died after after he was involved in an altercation with deputies on Friday.
Sheriff Steve Barry said the inmate, Anthony Jones, 36, was being moved from one area of the jail to another when he became violent. Per policy and procedures, Barry said Jones was restrained and, at some point, became unresponsive.

Barry said Jones was placed in a chair restraint before he went unconscious.
Jones was taken to Akron General Medical Center where he died Saturday night.
An outside agency has been requested to investigate the death. Sheriff Barry said detectives from the Stark County Sheriff's Department will conduct interviews.
The two deputies involved in the altercation have been placed on paid leave during the investigation.
On Tuesday, the Summit County Medical Examiner confirmed Jones suffered cardiac arrest, but the cause and manner of his death have not been determined.
Further toxicology testing, histology and investigation are needed prior to any rulings being made.
The deputies who suffered minor injuries were treated and released.
Jones was arrested on August 7 on eight charges, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. The publication reports six of these charges involved the illegal handling of weapons or firearms. His bail was set at $225,000
