A sheriff's deputy in Summit County has been indicted on rape charges after he allegedly assaulted a 26-year-old woman in March.
Antonio Williamson, 46, turned himself in Thursday morning and has been charged with rape, kidnapping, sexual battery and gross sexual imposition.
The Akron Police Department and Summit County Sheriff's Office conducted an internal investigation into the allegations.
According to records, Williamson led the Major Crime Scene Investigation Unit and has worked for the county since 1999.
Williamson will be arraigned on Friday. He is currently on leave without pay.
