It's the moment J.R. Smith and his wife Shirley Smith have been waiting for since their daughter Dakota was born five months early in January.
Their daughter, now 7 pounds, 5 ounces is finally going home.
Since then, Dakota has been at the NICU unit of the Hillcrest Hospital getting treatment.
In Shirley Smith's blogshe talked about how doctors and nurses recommended that she stay the night with Dakota before coming home so she can understand her sleep patterns.
Any who I stayed a night with Kota Bear last night, it was recommended for me to do so before she comes home, that way I can have an idea of her sleep and feeding patterns. Boyyyyy do I feel like I got jumped! Me and that couch did not get along at all LOL. Needless to say it was a good night and Dakota is just simply something special I can just stare at her and drift away
Later in her blog, she thanked the nurses and staff that helped her daughter survive at just 21 weeks old.
