Most Memorable Stories: I’ve covered numerous severe weather outbreaks in Alabama and Texas. While working in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in Texas on Dec. 26, 2015, I covered a deadly tornado outbreak that kept me on the air with wall-to-wall severe weather coverage for over 8 hours!
I also covered a major snow and ice storm in Dallas back in February 2011 that crippled the city. The timing was significant because it happened during Super Bowl week being held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
My family has been hit twice by major tornadoes. The first was back in 1995 on May 18 during the afternoon. An F-4 tornado with winds over 200 mph ripped through my family’s neighborhood, destroying our home. My parents were hit again by an EF-4 tornado during the super tornado outbreak of April 27, 2011 that once again destroyed their home.
Awards/Honors: In 2008, I completed the requirements to earn the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal from the American Meteorological Society. This is one of the highest honors a broadcast meteorologist can attain. I am AMS CBM Sealholder #294.
Role Model: My parents because they dedicated their lives to working hard and instilling morals, values and character in my sister and I.
Favorite Sports Teams: I really like watching basketball and have been a Cleveland Cavaliers fan for years.
Favorite Music: I like all types of music but my favorite is probably Latin. When I hear it, I always feel like salsa dancing!
Favorite Movie: My all-time favorite movie is "The Matrix." There are so many incredible layers to this movie that you can uncover and so many interpretations. I’ve watched it so much, I have many of the more popular lines memorized!
Favorite Food: I love seafood
Family: I have an older sister who resides in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in Texas. My parents live in Alabama.
Hobbies & Interests: I enjoy staying active and frequently work out at the gym. I love taking yoga and barre classes along with Pilates. I’ve most recently discovered a passion for figure skating and competed in my first figure skating competition in May. I also enjoy reading, spending time with my family and watching movies
You're most likely to see me around town at: A yoga studio, working out at the gym, or at one of the local ice skating rinks
Hidden Talent: Most people don’t know that I like to dance. I actually performed with a ballet company while working in Beaumont and did a ballet solo en pointe. I also love jazz, hip hop and Zumba dance.
Something most people don't know about me: I competed in the Miss Alabama Teen USA pageant and also won Miss Florida State University while a senior at Florida State. I then went on to compete in the Miss Florida pageant and performed a jazz dance performance that included a weather forecast at the beginning!
