On Tuesday afternoon, Northeast Ohio and all of the All-Star Game visitors who've ventured here will get the chance to see more than 70 Major League Basaeball All-Stars up close as they partake in the 2019 All-Star Game Parade. The All-Stars will make their way through the streets of Cleveland before stepping onto a red carpet.
The free event, which is accessible to all fans, will begin downtown at 12:30 p.m. on Lakeside Avenue and West Mall Drive, weaving between Play Ball Park on Malls B and C.
The parade will wind down after one mile at Progressive Field’s right field gate near the corner of East 9th Street and Larry Doby Way.
All fans and residents in Cleveland are encouraged to line the city’s streets and welcome the 2019 All-Stars to Cleveland.
The red carpet event will air in full on Tuesday on MLB Network and MLB.com at 3 p.m.
Baseball Hall of Famer Jim Thome and former All-Star Sandy Alomar Jr., will lead the parade as Grand Marshals in a 2019 Chevy Corvette.
Mascots representing various MLB clubs will walk in the parade, interacting with fans and giving special keepsakes along the parade. The red carpet is 100% polypropylene carpet and it will be recycled after the parade.
AirTracker 5 caught a glimpse of the red carpet ahead of the parade earlier Tuesday morning.
Kind of crazy seeing the Red Carpet right down E9th street with cars driving down either side. #WEWS #GMCle pic.twitter.com/evSjvNlO86
