CLEVELAND — Indians first baseman Carlos Santana won a starting position on the American League team in the 2019 MLB All-Star Game on Thursday, but he won’t be the only Tribe player on the team.
MLB announced the All-Star reserves roster Sunday evening and Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor and closer Brad Hand made the cut.
This will be Lindor’s fourth consecutive All-Star appearance and Hand’s third. Hand appeared in the last two games on the National League team playing for San Diego.
In addition to the three Indians players making the All-Star team, Santana will also be competing in the Home Run Derby the day before, giving the Indians plenty of representation at their home ballpark.
