You will never, ever guess the names of the zoo's new otter pups

Posted

The wait is over, and the winning names have been announced for the trio of otters capturing the hearts of Northeast Ohioans since their debut to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in September.

Meet Adhi, Bejo and Cipto, who were born to mom "Bitzy" and dad "Kibble". Adhi meaning "first", Bejo meaning "lucky" and Cipto meaning "to create", were part of a series of names that were authentic to the region from which Asian small-clawed otters originate, specifically from Indonesia.

The zoo hosted a naming contest for the otters, which allowed the public to vote from three groups of names with a donation that directly benefited the  Future of Wildlife Fund.
