This love letter to Cleveland will make your day

It's easy to have a prenotion about a city you've never visited before based on word of mouth from others or observations from others' experiences. Those who never visited Cleveland presumably think it's stuck in its rustbelt past, but what they don't know is that it's a city reinventing itself, neighborhood-by-neighborhood, brewery-by-brewery...you get the idea.

One visitor who recently came to the city admitted on Reddit that she thought Cleveland "would be a dump."

The only thing she knew about Cleveland was from a tourism video on YouTube from nearly eight years ago. A lot has changed since then, as she found out.

"But oh my goodness. What a wonderful city! It felt so welcoming and up and coming to me," she said in a letter.

She praised Mitchell's and the iconic West Side Market saying, "I love markets and the one you guys have is just top notch."

It's safe to say Cleveland and Clevelanders as a whole left a good impression on this first-time tourist to the city.

"Cleveland seems to me like a city that is very excited about its future and that makes me excited about its future. I’m an urban planner by trade and it was really cool to see the city adopt so many good/best practices to revitalize itself. At first, I was VERY reluctant to move here but now I’m counting down the days until I can do so," she wrote in the letter.
