SANDUSKY, Ohio — In response to the coronavirus pandemic in Ohio, Cedar Point has announced it will delay the opening of the 2020 season.
Cedar Point had previously announced it would open for the season on May 9 with a special Just for Fun sneak preview event on May 2 and May 3. After monitoring health directives, both nationally and regionally, the park will push back the opening date.
Cedar Point said it hopes to open the 2020 season by mid-May, or as soon as possible.
The park’s Castaway Bay Resort has been temporarily closed due to coronavirus concerns.
The park will work with guests who have prepaid tickets or room reservations to find solutions, Cedar Point said.
To accommodate 2020 Season Passholders, Cedar Point said it will be adding days to the park’s operating calendar to make up for the days the park is temporarily closed. 2020 Season Passholders will also be offered added-value benefits that the park will announce when the park opens.
