CLEVELAND — On this Friday the 13th, if you managed to get tickets to Dave Chappelle's upcoming performance, consider yourself monumentally lucky.

High demand for tickets to Dec. 30 show at Connor Palace was causing issues for the Playhouse Square website and maxing out their phone lines Friday morning. Tickets for the show sold out about an hour and a half after going on sale.

The tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, and immediately, the page to purchase tickets was unresponsive or blank for many patrons trying to score tickets. Multiple Facebook users commented on the Playhouse Square website with complaints about the site, some with screenshots of the blank page or connection errors. Some people said they had tickets in their cart that they were unable to purchase.

Playhouse Square posted an update on their Facebook post for the event, stating: “We are experiencing a high volume of patrons on the site. Please continue to call 216-241-6000 to purchase tickets.”

Multiple users replied that the phone lines were down. Playhouse Square responded saying that the lines were “maxed out,” and encouraged users to continue calling.

At 11:26 a.m., Playhouse Square confirmed on Facebook that all the tickets had been sold.
