CLEVELAND — Westlake native and Youtuber Logan Paul, 25, and his brother Jake Paul, 23, have been trying their hand in the boxing ring, and after Jake's win over former NBA point guard Nate Robinson on the undercard of the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones fight, Logan has found himself some significantly tougher competition than his brother had.
Logan will apparently be taking on legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., 43, in a boxing exhibition on Feb. 20.
Last weekend, Jake took the win over Robinson with a second-round knockout. He now has a professional boxing record of 2-0, although his competition to date has been Robinson and fellow Youtuber Ali Eson Gib.
After his win, Jake told ESPN that his career goal was to beat former UFC star Conor McGregor, who moved from the octagon to the boxing ring in 2017 to fight Mayweather, losing that bout in a knockout.
"I am dedicating my life to beating Conor McGregor," Jake said. "Financially, it already makes sense. Financially, I'm already one of the biggest prizefighters and there's only a couple more bosses to check off and to beat and to conquer."
Logan will apparently that skip the path to McGregor and head straight for the professionally undefeated, 50-0 Mayweather.
Mayweather’s announcement of the boxing exhibition said that further details regarding the event will be released at a later date. It will be Mayweather’s first fight since defeating McGregor in 2017.
Logan has been in one bout, losing to fellow Youtuber KSI in September 2019.
