CLEVELAND — Another season upon us means a new magical land at the Cleveland Metroparks. As winter quickly approaches, the zoo is getting ready for its newest transformation: Wild Winter Lights.
Wild Winter Lights will light up the zoo with more than one million lights and twists on holiday traditions, featuring more than a dozen interactive zones including, Snow Safari, Glacier Glade and Santa’s North Pole Lodge.
“We continue to ask guests for feedback to enhance our events and create new and compelling experiences,” said Kelly Manderfield, Cleveland Metroparks Chief Marketing Officer, in a news release. “Whether you’re looking for a romantic stroll, a night out with friends or an adventure for the whole family, Wild Winter Lights promises to be unforgettable for all this holiday season.”
Each area features something unexpected when you think of your traditional holiday displays. There will be a 16-foot tall teddy bear and giant sugar cookies to the awe of A-Roar-A-Borealis, the zoo’s version of the Northern Lights.
Visitors can participate in a snowball toss, a light show on Waterfowl Lake and photographs with the jolly man himself.
Additional highlights include S'more Safari campfire, unlimited showings of The Polar Express in the 4-D Theater, cookie decorating and an elves workshop.
Tickets are now on sale to the public. Wild Winter Lights runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekends beginning Friday, November 22.
Advanced ticket prices are $15.50 for zoo members or $18.50 for non-members. A 4-pack ticket deal $50.
