Man who stabbed mother said he 'should've used a bigger knife'

A 55-year-old man who was charged for allegedly stabbing his mother numerous times said, "I should've used a bigger knife" when he found out she didn't die during the initial attack, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

Charles Ferguson was charged with one count of attempted murder, deputies said.

According to authorities, Ferguson drove to a friend's house after the incident and told his friend he had just killed his mother. The friend contacted the sheriff's office who then went to the victim's house in the 14700 block of Oakgrove Drive in Doylestown.

Authorities found the 73-year-old victim with multiple stab wounds inside her home. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Her current condition is unknown.
