Ian Cross is the Digital Strategist at WEWS News 5. He works with the station's account executives to develop digital advertising strategies that lead to measurable success for Northeast Ohio businesses.
Ian started with the E.W. Scripps Company and WEWS News 5 in June of 2018 as the station's Digital Content Executive Producer. He shifted to the Digital Strategist role in April 2024 when the opportunity arose to develop new skills and obtain a holistic understanding of the industry.
Ian began his career as an assignment desk editor at his hometown NBC station in Tucson, Arizona, shortly after graduating from the University of Arizona with a degree in Journalism. He was promoted to the station's first dedicated Digital Content Producer before being recruited to become the Digital Content Manager at the NBC affiliate in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2013. After five years at that station, he was recruited by Scripps to bring his skills to WEWS in Cleveland.
Ian lives in Westlake with his wife and two Great Pyrenees dogs.
