WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — Three local hospitals that are part of Lake Health are now limiting the number of visitors to its facilities in an effort to stop the flu from spreading.

According to Lake Health, visitors will be limited to West Medical Center, TriPoint Medical Center and Beachwood Medical Center. Some exceptions will be permitted.

Anyone visiting those hospitals must be 18 years old or older and in good health. Anyone exhibiting flu-like symptoms in the past week is asked to not visit. Individuals who do visit are asked that they wash their hands before and after the visit.

Anyone visiting any of Lake Health's hospitals is asked to wear a mask, which the hospital will hand out, while at the facility.

Officials are also asking anyone exhibiting flu-like symptoms to reschedule any outpatient appointments such as physical therapy or lab and imaging appointments until they feel better.

Last week was one of the worst weeks for the flu in Ohio this season, with a jump in flu-related hospitalizations and two flu-related deaths in Cuyahoga County.
