CLEVELAND — Winter in Cleveland means there’s a plethora of fun outdoor activities that make the most of the cold weather, and one of those activities is ice skating at The Rink located in University Circle’s Wade Oval.
The rink opens for the season on Friday, Dec. 6. This family-friendly activity won’t break the bank either. Admission is $2 and skate rentals are $3, with $1 admission and $2 skate rentals for students.
"The Rink at Wade Oval encourages Clevelanders to enjoy the great outdoors, even during the coldest months of the year," said Chris Ronayne, president of University Circle Inc. "Between the activities, snowflake lights, fire pits, and overall ambiance of Wade Oval, you'll find yourself coming back again and again this season!"
After skating, guests can warm up with a treat from the concession stand or use their wristband for special discounts and offers at Cleveland History Center, Cleveland Botanical Garden, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, The Cleveland Museum of Art and moCa Cleveland.
Guests can also enjoy seasonal programming, which includes free learn-to-skate lessons each Saturday, special hours on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents' Day, a family-friendly Groundhog Day event, Pink the Rink on Valentine's Day, learn-to-play hockey lessons and mite hockey tournaments.
The Rink will remain open through Monday, Feb. 17, 2020.
