CLEVELAND — With trick-or-treat happening in a lot of Northeast Ohio communities on Halloween, parents are probably wondering who they may encounter on their route, including sex offenders.
There are thousands of people listed on Ohio's registry of sex offenders. A tool from the state allows you to search for registered sex offenders in your neighborhood and see them on a map.
The system allows you to view sex offenders who live and work in your area.
When you search the state database, you have several options. The first is to type in your home address and view a list of sex offenders in your area.
If you are looking for a particular person, you can also search the registry by name. The "name" tab is the second tab on the page.
You can even search an entire city by typing in the name of your town.
