Terrifying moments for a busload of people Sunday in Akron.

Police and emergency vehicles blocked the High and Selle intersection, where a Barons tour bus flipped over.

According to Akron police, it was mostly college students on the bus, heading back to school from spring break. Passengers NewsChannel 5 talked to said there were others on board.

"My main concern was the woman and the child that was on board," Michael Green said.

Green said the bus hit a curb, and the rest happened quickly.

"I felt the bus bounce, I grabbed ahold of my seat, so I didn't fall anywhere. But I didn't know what was going on until it was all done," he said.

Another passenger, Tyson Shields, called it was terrifying.

"I'm on the bus, and it's going down in my DMs, I'm on the phone, sliding through on Facebook, and next thing I know, the bus started literally sliding over. I just see people falling over, people was crying," Shields said.

Eight people were injured, and taken to the hospital. Police said their injuries were non-life threatening.

Officials said mechanical failure could have led up to this, but there's no official cause yet.
