Cuyahoga County Board of Health gives update on COVID-19 Wednesday

CCBH Health Commissioner Terry Allan said that contact tracing in schools in the fall will be “no different than it has been" — essentially identical to last year. Schools will help identify students who were exposed, then CCBH staff, along with contractors that they have had in place since last fall, will conduct case investigations into both contacts as well as quarantines, just as they did last school year.

County health officials also reviewed the current spread of COVID-19 in the county, saying that cases were rising and delta remains the most dominant strain. There were five COVID-related deaths in the county last week, which is three more than the previous week.

County Executive Armond Budish also said that his administration is going to ask County Council to approve $100 incentives for county employees to get vaccinated.
