Huron Co. Public Health accepting calls from anyone 80 and older to sign up for COVID-19 vaccination

HURON, Ohio — Huron County Public Health will begin accepting calls from anyone 80 years and older who wants to receive the COVID-19 vaccine,the department announced Monday.

Health officials will accept calls Monday and Tuesday for anyone who wants to sign up to receive a vaccine.

Any resident within the age group should call 419-668-1652 ext. 241 to sign up.

There are a limited number of spots available, and spots are open only to those 80 years and older.

Vaccines will be administered in Norwalk by appointment only. The health department said additional information will be given later in the week.

Over the weekend, the Lake County General Health District announced it was accepting appointment calls for anyone under the Phase 1B of the COVID-19 vaccination plan.

Any Lake County resident who qualifies for Phase 1B—which is anyone who is 65 years of age and older and/or has severe congenital, developmental or early on-set medical disorders—can sign up.
