COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted will hold a briefing Thursday afternoon to provide an update on the state’s response to COVID-19.
The briefing is expected to start at 2 p.m. You can watch it live in the player below:
Thursday’s update comes after Ohio was flagged on its own travel advisory map because the 7-day rolling average positivity rate for COVID-19 tests in the state rose above 15% for the first time since April this week.
On Wednesday, the Ohio Department of Health reported 7,835 new COVID-19 cases in the state today, bringing the total number of cases to 437,928.
During Thursday’s briefing, DeWine is expected to release an update to the state’s Public Health Advisory System, which currently lists four counties at purple Level 4, including Lake and Lorain.
Counties that could turn purple this afternoon on the updated map, if key indicators have increased for the second week in a row, include Richland, Medina, Summit, Portage, Stark and Trumbull counties.
