CLEVELAND — Effective May 4, all Costco members and guests will be required to wear a mask or face covering that covers the mouth and nose at all times while shopping inside the store, the company stated in a release on Wednesday.
The requirement, which should not substitute social distancing, does not apply to children under 2 or to individuals who are unable to wear a mask or face covering due to a medical condition.
Costco also made changes to its return policy to prohibit the return on specific items, including toilet paper, bottled water, sanitizing wipes, paper towels, rice and disinfecting spray.
Changes to store hours
Effective Monday, select Costco warehouse are open from 9:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday for members ages 60 and older and people with disabilities.
Priority Access for Healthcare workers
Costco is allowing priority access during open hours for all Costco members who are healthcare workers and first responders such as police officers, EMTs and firefighters. Those who present identification will be allowed to move to the front of the line to enter the warehouse.
