COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Health reported 1,316 new COVID-19 cases in the state today, bringing the total number of cases to 69,311.
The number of new cases today is higher than the rolling 21-day average of daily cases, which is 1,074. These numbers include both cases confirmed by a viral test and cases that meet the CDC's definition of probable. There have been 65,287 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date, which account for 94% of total cases.
There have now been 3,075 coronavirus-related deaths across the state, an increase of 6 over the previous day, which is lower than the 21-day average of 15.
There were 275 new cases reported in Cuyahoga County today, the second-highest number of daily cases to date, after a spike of 379 in July 3.
The ODH reported 160 new hospitalizations today, nearly double the 21-day average of 80, with 36 ICU admissions, compared to 18, the 21-day average. These increases follow weeks of rising total case numbers.
Cleveland reported 104 new cases, bringing their total to 3,394.
As of today, 47,303 Ohioans are presumed recovered from the disease, according to the ODH.
There were 18,828 tests done on July 13, the latest day this data from the ODH was available. Of those tests, 5.3% were positive, compared to the rolling 7-day average positivity rate, which is 6.4%. Click here for details on where to get a COVID-19 test in your area.
The median age of patients is 43 with the age range for infected patients from younger than 1 year old to 109 years old.
