LAKEWOOD, Ohio — Salt, a restaurant in Lakewood known for its small plates and cocktails, announced it has temporarily closed due to exposure to COVID-19, owners Jill Veda and Jessica Parkison said in a Facebook post.

They decided to close beginning Thursday after it was known to them that they had been exposed to the coronavirus. They will be closed to get tested and await test results.

"We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. We look forward to serving you again, soon," the owners said in a statement.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, they have been created in navigating operations by offering curbside pickup and family-style meals.

Salt, 17625 Detroit Ave., has been open in Lakewood for about 4 and a half years. The chef was a two-time James Beard Award finalist, but in the wake of the coronavirus, the restaurant went from a more upscale style of dine-in food to family-style takeout.
