AKRON, Ohio — The University of Akron’s has lost at least a $65 million to $70 million challenge due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to a video message posted by President Gary Miller.
That number takes into account both real and anticipated loss of revenues for next the fiscal year.
The university will also be consolidating from 11 colleges to five.
It is unclear what six colleges will be cut from the university.
During his video message, Miller also said he is sitting down with the athletic director and will be making major cuts to the athletic program.
