CLEVELAND — Geraldo Rivera has decided against becoming a candidate for retiring Senator Rob Portman’s U.S. Senate seat in 2022, after tweeting a little over a day ago that he was pondering a run.

If you mustache, the Fox News personality tweeted Thursday:

“After a 36-hour pondering whirlwind I’ve decided not to seek public office. Erica and I deeply appreciate the good wishes of those cheering the idea.”

Rivera is currently living in Shaker Heights and is a host on WTAM 1100.

Earlier this year, Portman announced that he was not going to run for re-election.
