Women entrepreneurs have almost tripled in numbers in the past 30 years, from 4 to 11 million.
Seeing a woman decisive, seeing a woman knowing what she wants, and seeing a woman with a kind of tenacity and thick skin of a man is different,” said Charron Martin, business owner of the Perfect Pineapple Wrap.
What Martin is describing is what she’s experienced along her journey becoming a female entrepreneur. She said it has just come with the territory.
“I’ve encountered that, I’ve encountered the readjustment,” said Martin.
And that’s where Lashawn Reed-Kendricks comes in.
“When you’re an entrepreneur everything rides on you,” Reed-Kendricks said.
So she created the national conference "Success Her Way" to encourage, support and educate more women about starting and keeping a successful business.

“I’m sharing the resources, I’m sharing the knowledge, I’m connecting them to other women,” she said.
This is the third year in a row Cleveland has hosted the conference full of workshops, classes and speakers, which are all things Martin said she looks forward to helping her with her new business.
“We get women sharing their experiences, and I think that is the most valuable knowledge you can get,” said Martin.
The conference is Saturday at the Embassy Suites, 3775 Park E Drive in Beachwood, Ohio from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
