CLEVELAND — You’ve requested your mail-in ballot from the Cuyahoga Board of Elections. You’ve filled it out and sent back your ballot. Now you’re probably wondering, when will your ballot be marked as returned?

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections said it takes about two to three days for the ballot to show up in its system.

Once a voter drops off the ballot at one of the drop-off locations, the board of elections said it needs at least 24 hours to collect the ballot and send it over to the tabulation center, where all mail-in ballots are processed.

If you drop it off outside of operating hours, it won't be collected until the next day.

Once the voter is given credit for a returned ballot, it usually takes a few hours for it to be uploaded to the “Track My Ballot” website.

On Friday, the board of elections announced the addition of a new collection site for absentee ballots. There's a temporary collection box now located at Campus International School, 3100 Chester Ave.
