What started as a fun surprise present for his daughter has turned into a quest to bring one of his favorite movies to the world of LEGO.
Jason Middaugh built an entire house out of LEGOs to resemble the summer cottage outside of Syracuse, New York he and his family love to visit. After a longer look at his creation, they realized it also reminded them of the famous "A Christmas Story" house.
Jason pulled together LEGO pieces from various sets to build the home, complete with iconic scenes, characters and objects from the movie. It even has leg lamp that lights up!
He submitted the idea to LEGO, hoping the company would pick it up and reproduce the set to sell in stores.
In order for that to happen, the LEGO Ideas page created for The Lego Christmas Story House must receive 10,000 votes by Christmas! The house received half of all it's necessary votes halfway to Christmas. Now it's up to over 7,500 votes - just 2,500 more to go and it can become a real set!
