36 deer culled in Mentor; culling program continues

The City of Mentor has reopened Veterans Memorial Park following its temporary closure so deer could be culled.

The city said it used sharpshooters to help get the deer population under control. The city was provided with 110 deer tags this season.

To date, 36 deer were culled, with 12 of those at Veterans Memorial Park.

The city said it intends to continue culling deer until it reaches the full 110.
