CANTON, Ohio — Canton Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead and a woman injured early Monday morning.
The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. at a home on Oakwood Street Northwest.
When police arrived, they found 21-year-old Javontae Conner with an apparent gunshot wound to the torso.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said an 18-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to her abdomen and was alert and talking.
She was transported to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in unknown condition.
