The Akron Police Department is investigating a shooting that left an 18-year-old man dead and a 22-year-old woman injured.
It happened around 10:43 p.m. in the 500 block of Noble Avenue.
Authorities say officers responded to a home after receiving a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found Tayveion Murphy down in the street. He had been shot multiple times. EMS transported him to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
The woman was also hurt, having been shot in the leg. Her injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
A preliminary investigation indicates that an unknown shooter, possibly in a vehicle, opened fire on Murphy and the woman when they arrived at the home.
