AKRON, Ohio — The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested a man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting that happened in Akron on Dec. 3, 2020.
The suspect, Kashmair Mingo, was arrested in the 1800 block of Stephanie Lane by the Ohio Northern Violent Fugitive Task Force. He was found in possession of a firearm when he was taken into custody.
Mingo was wanted on a murder and aggravated robbery warrant for the death of Tyrae Carter, 21. He is now facing an additional charge of having weapons under disability for the firearm offense.
According to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, Carter was shot multiple times following an argument. Witnesses called 911.
Police found the man’s body inside a vehicle when they arrived, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mingo is currently being held in jail in lieu of a $1 million bond, according to Akron Municipal Court records.
