Akron Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 48-year-old man near a homeless encampment.
The shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. in a parking lot on Kent Place.
When police arrived, they found the man with a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
