AKRON, Ohio — Five people, including a 16-year-old, were arrested early Wednesday morning in Akron for allegedly firing shots that struck two homes in the city’s Kenmore neighborhood.
The following people have been charged with carrying concealed weapons, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, discharging firearms, improperly discharging firearms at or into a habitation and criminal damaging:
- Antonio Moore II, 19
- Ronald Jones Jr., 18
- Jordan Davis, 19
- Christian Dozier, 20
- Unidentified 16-year-old male
Additionally, Jones was also charged with having weapons under disability for a prior conviction.
The incident happened around 3 a.m. near Oregon Avenue and 16th Street SW.
Authorities say two residents reported that their homes and vehicles were struck by gunfire. On scene, officers recovered numerous shell casings.
A 2016 Kia Forte was spotted fleeing the scene.
Police said that the vehicle was located and pulled over in the 800 block of Morse Street after it narrowly missed striking a police cruiser.
The five individuals listed above were all inside the vehicle. Officers located two handguns and two rifles inside the car within reach of the suspects.
