58-year-old man robbed at gunpoint outside lounge in Akron

AKRON, Ohio — A 58-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint while loading his belongings into his car outside a lounge in Akron on Saturday.

Officers responded at about 3 a.m. to a robbery in the 1200 block of South Arlington Street. The 58-year-old victim told police he was loading equipment into his car when a man armed with a gun demanded all of his property.

The robber took an undisclosed amount of cash, his cell phone and a duffle bag that contained a camera and other items.

The robber fled in a gray minivan, possibly a 2010-2012 Honda Odyssey, located near the parking lot. The witness did not provide a detailed description of the suspect to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Akron Police Department Detective Bureau at 330-375-2490.
