AKRON, Ohio — A 7-month-old boy was killed after being attacked by his family dog, according to Akron police.
Officers were called to a home in the 1300 block of South Hawkins to assist EMS with report of a dog bite, police said.
A 7-month-old boy was attacked by the family dog and was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to police.
The boy’s grandmother was also bitten by the dog, but only sustained minor injuries, police said.
Police said no criminal charges will be filed at this time. Police said it "appears to be a terrible and tragic accident."
