AKRON, Ohio — A 70-year-old man who thought he was meeting an escort he found online was robbed at knife-point and forced to drive around to different ATMs Monday evening.
According to an Akron police report, the man met a woman on an escort website then drove to the 800 block of Sheridan Avenue to meet her.
After the man arrived and got out of his car, he was confronted by the woman who then jumped in the driver seat. Another man threatened the 70-year-old with a knife and forced him back into the car.
The robbers then drove the man around to several ATMs. Next, they drove the man to a business in the 1300 block of Copley Road and forced him to go inside.
The 70-year-old managed to escape from the robbers after alerting staff that he was being robbed.
The robbers fled the store and drove off in the 70-year-old's Toyota Highlander. Police found the car early Tuesday morning.
