Akron Dollar Tree robbed at gunpoint on Monday

The Akron Police Department is seeking information regarding a robbery that happened at a Dollar Tree store on Monday morning.

According to authorities, the robbery happened around 8:30 a.m. at Dollar Tree, 580 Vernon Odom Blvd. 

The store manager was getting ready to head to the bank to make a deposit when a man wearing a scarf over his face walked in, pointed a gun at him and demanded money, police said. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the man ran off across the parking lot.

The employee said the man appeared to be about 5 feet 9 inches tall and was wearing a black scarf around his face, a blue and gray jacket with hood and gray pants.
