AKRON, Ohio — Akron fire crews responded to a fire at a vacant home near W. Tallmadge and W. Cuyahoga Falls avenues on Tuesday morning.
The department received multiple calls for the house fire, and responding companies reported smoke coming from a third-floor window, according to a report from Akron fire.
Fire was found in the basement, the report states. It then became a defensive fire, and all fire companies were taken out of the interior of the home. The fire was knocked down, and no one was found in two searches of the home. Fire companies continued to wet down hot spots.
A fire investigator responded to the scene.
