A landlord collecting rent from his tenants was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday by two men in Akron.
According to authorities, the robbery happened in the 200 block of Irisdale Place at around 2 p.m.
The victim was getting into his SUV when two men approached him and stopped him from closing the door. One of the men pointed a gun at the 58-year-old victim and demanded money.
The two men then climbed inside the victim's vehicle and forced him to drive them around. Both men jumped out of the vehicle near Marks Avenue and Emerson Street and ran off through the backyards of some nearby homes, according to police.
Authorities said the robbers took six rent checks, $900 cash and the victim's phone during the holdup.
The two men are described as black males about 20 to 25 years old.
The first suspect is about 5-feet-8 inches to 5-feet-10-inches tall and was wearing a baseball hat, white t-shirt and red shorts. The second man is described as standing a little over 6-foot tall and was wearing all dark clothing.
